I can’t say enough about how wonderful it has been to take classes with Katherine. Four times per week I log onto KJON2.com and immerse myself in the beauty and grace of mambo dancing. The classes can be as challenging as they are energetic and joyous. Not only is Katherine an inspiring leader of the dance floor, she is also an intuitive teacher who somehow knows — from the other side of the camera — which steps need more explanation and which steps need more repetition. In every class, we build on our mambo vocabulary with original choreography and a fun playlist that inspires me to develop my own personal connection with the music, and use my body to express the exquisite tension that occurs when music meets movement. Even though I am a work in progress, I am enjoying the journey. To put it simply, Katherine is the grooviest dance teacher you will ever meet, and she very generously shares her knowledge and positive energy with all of her students!

Walking into a dance class, the moment you hear the music and see Katherine Jimenez smile, whether in person or online, is exciting, but only gets better as the warm and relaxed and happy feeling grows with each new stretch and next part of that day’s choreography. Katherine brings out the best in everyone and at the same time supports everyone in growing and becoming their best self, in dance, but by some magical way, also in life. Katherine’s classes are full of joy and positivity.

She teaches the very best of technique, tradition mixed with her very personal contemporary experiences and with knowledge of so many different types of dance and movement. All ages and experience levels can find the right class for where they are at the time and then also where they want to stretch and grow. The possibility to extend classes with private sessions is an amazing opportunity to clarify and develop both the techniques and choreography of class.

Katherine has a unique combination of being a phenomenal dancer and performer, and an amazing instructor. Her classes are filled with high levels of energy; she is able to guide her students on specific techniques in a fun and encouraging way that has helped me improve my confidence in how I dance Mambo. I always leave Katherine’s classes with a stronger frame of mind, a sense of accomplishment and confidence. She has inspired me to learn as much as I can and work hard to achieve my dancing goals.
